Synopsis THE MERCHANT OF VENICE is one of Shakespeare's most performed challenging plays, exploring the problem of finding true love in a mercenary society, and through the troubling characters of Shylock and his daughter, Jessica, the nature of extreme prejudice. The Rough Mechanicals Theatre Company was created in 2005 to perform the works of William Shakespeare in an accessible, clear and unpretentious manner. Since then they have performed Shakespeare's comedies, history plays and tragedies, including Henry IV parts I & II, As You Like It, A Midsummer's Night's Dream, Richard III, Twelfth Night and Hamlet, among others.

Additional Info This year being the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death The Rough Mechanicals Theatre Co. have come together with DDOS and will be presenting this production at the Green Room Theatre
